ADVISORY: First Special Committee Hearing on Property Reassessment Scheduled for September 30

DOVER – Members of the bipartisan Special Committee tasked with investigating Delaware’s recent statewide property reassessment will convene a public hearing on Tuesday, September 30 at 9:30 a.m. in the Senate Chamber at Legislative Hall.

Initially scheduled for the week of September 22, the new date was chosen to ensure the participation of Tyler Technologies.

The hearing will include presentations and committee questioning of officials from New Castle County, the City of Wilmington, and Tyler Technologies, the vendor responsible for conducting Delaware’s first statewide tax reassessment in more than 40 years. Representatives from Kent and Sussex counties have also been invited to participate. The hearing will conclude with a public comment period.

This hearing is the first in a four-part series scheduled to convene in the coming months. The committee is tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of the reassessment process and developing recommendations to ensure future reassessments are equitable and responsive to Delawareans’ needs.
